David F. Roberts, MD is a board‑certified family medicine physician and Medical Director of MerLeaux, with more than 35 years of clinical experience on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. A graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Medicine with residency training at the University of Tennessee’s Jackson‑Madison County General Hospital, he has long served patients through Memorial Hospital at Gulfport and community clinics in Gulfport and Diamondhead.
After personally losing 120 pounds under medical guidance, Dr. Roberts developed a strong focus on metabolic health and now leads MerLeaux’s medically supervised weight management, hormone optimization, and wellness protocols with a deep understanding of both the science and the emotional journey of weight loss.

Kimberly Badeaux Merrill is the co-founder and owner of MerLeaux, holds a Master’s degree in Health Administration and Education (MHA‑Ed) and is a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), with 33 years of clinical experience with a background that includes critical care respiratory therapy, NICU experience, and healthcare operations and education.
Her own 180‑pound weight loss inspired the design of MerLeaux’s Medical Weight Management program, built to offer patients the same level of structure, accountability, and evidence‑based tools that allowed her to sustain such a dramatic change. Kimberly’s vision also drives the practice’s integration of aesthetics, wellness, and education—ensuring every treatment plan is not only results‑driven but also aligned with patient safety, regulatory standards, long‑term health, and patient education.

Mary Fant Gean is the co-founder and owner of MerLeaux. An essential part of the MerLeaux experience, bringing warmth, relatability, and true Southern hospitality to the clinic. A Memphis native now proudly describing herself as a “Memphis girl living in a Mississippi Gulf Coast world,”
Mary is deeply connected to the Diamondhead and coastal communities through family, social, and local entertainment ties. At MerLeaux, she helps ensure that every client feels welcomed, comfortable, and cared for, supporting patients through their treatment journeys with the same authenticity and energy she brings to her life on the Coast.
